Jade is one of our students from a single parent home having lost her father during her first year at University.  She has completed her 4th year in Marine and Freshwater Biology at Guelph University. . She is taking a 5th year to complete her remaining courses. She continues to be passionate about the ever-changing environment with the effects of climate change and human activity, and hopes to work in a field that will help to conserve the planet and its finite resources. She had an extensive conversation with Prime Minister Mia Mottley in which they discussed the ocean as being an important frontier for environmental conservation and preservation, which heavily reaffirmed that she is pursuing something she is passionate about, and something of the utmost importance globally.

Jade continues to work her 2 part time jobs alongside school as a waiter and bartender for private events at the University, and as an animal care attendant at a cat hotel. Working part time has helped jade create a structured schedule which allows her to properly allocate time for her studies.  Jade is looking forward to her future in Marine Biology and is hoping to someday make a difference that can help conserve ecosystems worldwide.

Jade is especially grateful for the ongoing scholarship assistance provided by Grecia Mayers and The Grant Morris Foundation.
