Halo McKenzie Davis (2023)
Halo McKenzie Davis is from a single parent household. She is an ambitious, vibrant 11-year-old Canadian of Barbadian descent. Halo continues to navigate her French Immersion studies with much enthusiasm and impressive report cards. At school, Halo is a leader, a teammate, and an advocate of kindness receiving the ‘Virtue of the Month’ certificate on three occasions. She successfully competed in the 100m, 200m and 1st anchor relay runner for her school. Halo also made the girls’ junior netball team for her school and competed at the divisional level. Halo enjoys swimming, dancing, and drawing. She completed a 3-month synchronized swimming program with Canada’s Artistic Swimming Club and continues to enjoy a full scholarship at Canada National School of Ballet and this year, was given a small solo part at her closing ceremony.
Halo regrets not being able to attend the Event this year since her mother has a small contract in Barbados which requires her to accompany her mother. She is thankful for the ongoing scholarship recognitions given by Laura Anderson through the Grant Morris foundation.
