Emily Marasigan (2023)

Emily Marasigan, is a 17-year old student attending East York Collegiate Institute.  For her third year of high school she maintained above average marks for all of her classes.  She joined the school band and this year attended the Music Fest in Niagara Falls, performing in front of judges and receiving an hour-long clinic with an experienced musician.  Her school received a silver ranking for the performance and a gold ranking for a site-reading performance.

On January 22, 2023, her father collapsed playing basketball with her brother and died in hospital 4 days later.  This life changing experience has provided new direction in her life which helps her focus more in serving the needs of others.
