Christopher Sankarlal (2023)
Christopher Sankarlal is a 2nd-year university student majoring in Biological Sciences at the University of Windsor. He is working this summer with the Hospice of Windsor-Essex to gain experience in the field of palliative care. Christopher finished his second year of studies with a 3.9 GPA and was awarded the President’s Level Support Scholarship for a second time alongside the Dean’s list. During his second year, Christopher enhanced his skills in the laboratory, developing skills to identify and isolate different types of biological molecules via gel electrophoresis, chromatography, fractionation, dialysis, and purification with both blood and protein samples. In his first semester, Christopher completed courses such as Genetics, Introductory Microbiology and Techniques, Organic Chemistry I, Ecology, and Human Physiology I. In the second semester, he took Evolution, Molecular Biology, Organic Chemistry of Biomolecules, and Economic Botany.
Christopher’s interest is in pursuing the field of Medical Genetics and Oncology.
He plans to join the MEDLIFE Windsor program to assist communities in need of new homes and healthcare during the summer of 2024 in Latin America. Christopher is passionate in helping people via the field of medicine and will be combining his interest in genetics to do so for the rest of his career.
He appreciates the sacrifices made by The Grant Morris Foundation Family in providing ongoing scholarships to aid students like himself, and expresses his sincere thanks.
